Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool target going nowhere; Bellerin battle

Liverpool look set to miss out on a strike target this summer, while an Arsenal defender is now wanted by Juventus as well as Barcelona, according to Monday’s European papers.

LIVERPOOL TARGET SET TO SIGN NEW NAPOLI DEAL

Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne, who has been a target for Liverpool, is reportedly close to a contract renewal with his hometown club.

Insigne has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season and it was rumoured that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was a fan of the player’s ability to play wide or through the middle as a central attacker.

The 25-year-old Italy international had been linked with a summer switch to Anfield after stalling on a new deal with the Serie A side.

The delay had been partly due to a dispute over image rights but that has now been sorted and an agreement on the frontman’s future is now a formality, according to Il Mattino, via Calciomercato.

JUVE JOIN BARCA IN RACE FOR ARSENAL STAR

Juventus have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin this summer.

Barcelona have been favourites to land their former youth team star for some time but now Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Juve are also in the running.

Bellerin, 22, reportedly held talks with Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez in London before the last international break, despite only signing a new long-term deal at The Emirates last November.

It is thought that the Spain international would favour a move back home, but the interest from Juventus could force a bidding war that will only benefit Arsenal should they look to sell.
