Euro Paper Talk: Man United chase £26m Ligue 1 sensation; Arsenal hope

Manchester United will look to strengthen their forward line with Ligue 1 sensation Malcom, while Arda Turan will be allowed to leave Barcelona on a free, according to Monday’s European papers.

TURAN FOR FREE?

Arsenal target Arda Turan will be allowed to leave Barcelona on a free transfer, according to Marca.

Barcelona want to get rid of the 30-year-old Turkey international off the wage bill and now they have given up on receiving a fee for the player, according to the Spanish source.

Turan, who has not kicked a ball for Barca this season, is under contract until 2020, but the La Liga giants are resigned to losing him for free, despite being valued by Fanatik in the summer at €65million.

Arsene Wenger has been a long-term target for the Gunners and with the contract situations of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez uncertain, the French boss would be very interested if he could sign Turan for free.

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut meanwhile recently said that he was in talks with a Premier League club over a January move

“I have been in talks with four clubs, everything will be sorted in 15 days,” Bulut was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“Turan will either be loaned out or sold, there are offers from the Premier League, Spain and Italy.”

Wenger snapped up Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke in the summer and he has gone on to become a reliable first-teamer for Wenger.

LAZIO TARGET SET TO DISAPPOINT MAN UTD

Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic looks to have dealt Manchester United and Juventus a transfer blow.

The central midfielder bagged a brilliant brace in his side’s 3-3 draw with Atalanta on Sunday and spoke out about the speculation when quizzed at half-time.

There were reports that scouts of several of Europe’s top clubs were in attendance in Bergamo to watch the 22-year-old in action, including figures for United and Juve.

Milinkovic, however, was paying no interest as he concentrated on the job in hand, telling Premium Sport: “The scouts and observers that are here do not interest me, I play for Lazio, I am happy here and I want to win every match.”
