UNITED CLOSE IN ON BRAZILIAN
Manchester United are closing in on the capture of Monaco midfielder Fabinho, according to a report in Spain.
Marca claims United want the central midfielder and are prepared to pay £50million for the 23-year-old, who managed 12 goals and six assists fro 55 appearances this season.
The Brazilian is contracted until 2021 having only signed a contract extension last summer, but Jose Mourinho is keen to add some steel to his midfield and versatility with Fabinho a more than capable right-back.
Mourinho worked with Fabinho during their short time together at the Bernabeu and handed him his Real Madrid debut and only appearance in May 2013.
The report suggests United have made a “remarkable advance” in their pursuit of the Brazilian after his other suitor, Atletico Madrid, saw their transfer ban upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport last week.
INTER MOVE IN ON CHELSEA TARGET RUDIGER
Reports from Sky Sport Italia suggest that incoming Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has set his sights on Chelsea target Antonio Rudiger.
The Blues have been linked with the German stopper and are believed to be keen to sign the 24-year-old as a replacement for the departed John Terry.
Now though they face real competition for the Roma man, who has worked with Spalletti in the Italian capital at for the past 18 months.
The report claims Rudiger is keen on following Spalletti to Milan although the Giallorossi want €40million for Rudiger, while Inter are believed to be ready to offer €30m plus a player exchange.
LIVERPOOL SWITCH WINGER TARGETS
Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over the signing of winger Gelson Martins, according to reports in Portugal.
Both the BBC and Sky Sports reference the claims suggesting that Jurgen Klopp is being priced out of a move for former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah after their initial £28million bid was turned down.
Roma are believed to be chasing €50million for the 24-year-old, a price that the Reds are unwilling to match and so they are exploring other options.
Martins, 22, is currently with Sporting and Liverpool are understood to have made contact for Portugal international Martins, who has a release clause of £50million.
That clause is believed to be negotiable with Sporting under financial pressure after missing out on the Champions League.
Martins scored six goals and made 14 assists in 32 league games for Sporting last season and he has a contract until June 2022.
