Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd line up €150m De Gea replacement
Manchester United are still worried about losing David de Gea, Arsenal are set to bid €20million for a full-back and Chelsea target £65million centre-back approach, according to Tuesday’s European papers.
UNITED CHASE TER STEGEN
Manchester United will make a move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, claim Don Balon.
Jose Mourinho remains fearful that David de Gea will move to Real Madrid in the summer, despite Florentino Perez this week publicly backing current Real No. 1 Keylor Navas.
“We are proud to have you as our goalkeeper, whatever others may say,” Perez told a fans’ event. “If you continue to work hard on this path you will definitely be with us for many years to come.”
Despite that the report claims United are making contingency plans should De Gea quit Old Trafford and they are apparently willing to pay as much as €150million for the Barcelona keeper.
THREE-WAY BATTLE TO LAND BARCA LEGEND
Manchester City, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are all reportedly trying to sign Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta this summer.
Iniesta, who will be 34 next month, is already said to have agreed a move to the Chinese Super League but top European outfits are trying to persuade him to stay on this continent.
Indeed, Diario Gol reports that Pep Guardiola wants to bring the playmaker to Manchester, while the link to Arsenal comes as Luis Enrique is tipped to take over from Arsene Wenger at The Emirates.
However, with two of Iniesta’s former Barca team-mates, Dani Alves and Neymar, already in France it would appear that PSG are confident of luring the Spain star to Paris.
The midfield maestro rolled back the years with an outstanding display in the 5-0 Copa del Rey final win over Sevilla, showing that he still has plenty to offer at the top level of European football.
