Euro Paper Talk: Real Madrid turn to Man Utd man after Salah woe

Real Madrid are said to be plotting an ambitious move for a Manchester United star after getting short shrift from Liverpool over Mohamed Salah, according to Monday’s European papers.

REAL PLOT AMBITIOUS RAID FOR MARCUS RASHFORD

Real Madrid are said to be plotting an ambitious £90million summer raid for Marcus Rashford, according to reports in the Spanish press.

Don Balon claims Real president Florentino Perez is ready to turn to the United man after being scared off by Liverpool’s valuation of Mohamed Salah.

It’s claimed the Reds have quoted Real an asking price of £160million for Salah and that is beyond what they’d like to spend.

The club also wants to sign Harry Kane, but a similar valuation from Tottenham, together with the player’s vow to stay, appears that deal is over for them too.

But Real could have more hope in landing Rashford, Don Balon suggests. They believe Perez has identified the player to play on the left-side of United’s attack, with Cristiano Ronaldo offered a new deal and switched into a central striking role.

Real plan to offset the club of signing Rashford by allowing Gareth Bale to leave – with United again touted as a possible destination.

NO OFFERS FOR ALISSON

Roma  say they have not received a proposal, never mind a bid for Liverpool and Real Madrid target Alisson.

The Serie A club’s sporting director Monchi has denied there has been a bid for the in-demand Brazilian keeper after reports emerged last week of a rejected €40million offer from Napoli.

Don Balon recently claimed Liverpool were ready to test Roma’s resolve to keep Alisson by launching a massive €80million (£70.5m) offer to the Serie A giants.

However, Monchi has insisted Roma have not received any offers for the “happy” 25-year-old.

“We are not afraid of losing Alisson,” Monchi told Mediaset Premium.

“He is happy to be here with us and we are happy with him. What you read in the papers isn’t always true.

“We don’t know of any offer and certainly haven’t received any proposal.

“I speak to Alisson every week, he is happy and wants to do important things here at Roma.”
