Jack Wilshere may be offered a way out of Arsenal, while Liverpool have lined up their replacement for Mo Salah, according to Thursday’s European papers.
ITALIAN TRIO EYE ARSENAL STAR
Three Serie A clubs are reportedly monitoring the situation surrounding Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere.
According to TransferMarketWeb, AC Milan, Juventus and Sampdoria all have an interest in signing the 26-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.
The report claims that Wilshere is set to leave Arsenal as a free agent, as he is not willing to accept the Gunners’ offer of a new deal on a 25% reduced salary.
Sampdoria made an attempt to sign the Arsenal academy product last summer but failed in their bid, while Milan have been credited with interest repeatedly.
Wilshere may however say yes to Arsenal’s offer, if he cannot make the amount that he wants abroad.
LIVERPOOL LINE UP SPORTING STAR – BUT WILL ONLY MOVE ON ONE CONDITION
Liverpool already have a deal in place to sign Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins this summer, according to reports in Spain.
However, El Gol Digital claims the arrangement to sign the Portugal attacker will only kick in if Liverpool lose wing sensation Mohamed Salah, who has been linked with Real Madrid.
Salah’s form this season, in which he has scored 31 times, has drawn obvious admiration from Real Madrid, amid claims they are looking to remodel their attack this summer.
The player joined Liverpool in a bargain £36.9million deal – but would likely command a fee almost three times that if he were to move on.
Liverpool, however, are in no hurry to sell the player off and are said to be ready to reward Salah with a new deal.
But if they do lose their star man, the report has indicated Liverpool officials have struck an arrangement with Sporting that will see Martins move to Anfield as his replacement. It’s claimed Liverpool have agreed to pay £60million for a man, who has also come under Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich’s radar over the past 12 months.
Martins has a £53million release clause, but it’s suggested the Reds have agreed to pay a premium fee to Sporting – much like they did with Naby Keita – to ensure they have first refusal and on the off-chance that Salah leaves.
Ironically, the report claims Real are also keen on Martins, though Egyptian Salah is their first choice.
