Daley Blind is being strongly tipped to leave Manchester United in January, Real Madrid and AC Milan are locked in talks over a sensational €140m player swap in January, while the lengths Chelsea went to to try and sign Alex Sandro have been revealed by Thursday’s European papers.
BLIND LINKED WITH JANUARY SWITCH
Manchester United star Daley Blind has been linked with a January move to Turkey.
Reports in the Turkish media suggest Fenerbahce are plotting a swoop for the Dutchman and are confident of luring him away after he endured a difficult start to the new season.
Media outlet Hurriyet claim Blind is open to the possibility of leaving Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
Blind has often found himself on the fringes of the first team this season, having been limited to just 270 minutes of Premier League action so far.
Although Mourinho would be loathe to sell the versatile star, the report claims it’s unlikely he’d stand in Blind’s way if the right offer came along and the player expressed a wish to leave.
MILAN PLOT BALE RAID AS REAL MADRID TARGET SPANIARD
AC Milan are considering a €100m January swoop for Gareth Bale, according to reports in Spain on Wednesday.
The Welshman has struggled with injuries over the past 18 months, having once again been struck down by a calf strain.
And Sportsmediaset claim his latest injury could prove the final straw for Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, who won’t stand in Bale’s way should a suitable offer come in.
And the report adds further weight to claims of Bale’s exit by suggesting Los Blancos are plotting a raid for AC Milan’s star man Suso as his replacement.
The former Liverpool man recently penned a new deal with the Rossoneri, but tellingly, the buyout clause in the contract was set at just €40million – and the reports claim Real are keen to bring the player back to his homeland.
A few months ago, Suso revealed that he came close to joining Real Madrid in the past.
“I came close to joining Real Madrid. I came here [in Madrid] to visit the training facilities but the Liverpool called me and I decided to move to England,” he said.
“I wanted to try a new experience and play in the Premier League. The following day Liverpool signed me.
“I was very young and it was hard for me to settle in well. I was lost even if the dressing room was full of Spanish footballers thanks to Benitez. I have recovered now.”
