Euro Paper Talk: Talks for €30m Liverpool, Chelsea target; Ronaldo’s £65m return

The agent of a Liverpool and Chelsea target has admitted a move is very likely, while Man Utd are eyeing a £65m follow up to Alexis Sanchez, according to Thursday’s European papers.

AGENT OF CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL TARGET CONFIRMS TALKS

The agent of reported Chelsea and Liverpool target Emerson Palmieri has confirmed that the Blues have made an offer to sign the Brazilian.

Yesterday, Italian outlet Calciomercato.com reported that Chelsea had placed bid for the right-back.

Current champions Juventus reportedly came close to signing Emerson last summer, but the deal collapsed when he picked up a knee injury in May.

Roma are expected to demand a fee of around €25/30million in order to meet their own aims of staying within Financial Fair Play parameters.

“Emerson’s Chelsea move is not a done deal yet, we are in talks with the club,” his agent Fernando Garcia told Calciomercato.com.

“The two clubs are in talks and we hope to finalize the deal soon. A transfer is very likely at this stage.”

“I have not planned a trip to Italy anytime soon, we are waiting for news. Emerson would love to play in the Premier League and would love to work with Conte, he is a top manager, one of the best in the World.”

LIVERPOOL BATTLE VALENCIA FOR INTER MILAN STAR

Liverpool are ready to battle Valencia for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to reports in Italy.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims Valencia had held the upper hand in the race to sign the Croatian battler, but they now face a battle from Liverpool, with representatives from the club reported to have contacted Inter over the player.

With the Nerazzurri keen to raise fresh funds in order to pursue their own targets – including Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge and Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, the Croatian is a player the club are reportedly willing to sacrifice.

It’s believed the Reds would have to pay around £25million for the player, who would be seen as a long-term replacement for Emre Can, who continues to be linked with Juventus.

REAL MADRID’S TOP STARS TURN ON RONALDO

Manchester United are being tipped to follow up the signing of Alexis Sanchez by then striking a deal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol claims Ronaldo is looking increasingly likely to leave Real Madrid this summer and reckons a deal to take him back to Old Trafford could be announced as early as next week. However, while they reckon a deal could be announced this month, it’s believed Ronaldo is more likely to see out the season in Spain before making his emotional return next summer.

Furthermore, the report claims Marco Asensio, Isco, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas all want Ronaldo offloaded this summer.

Ronaldo is said to be unhappy at Real’s failure to offer him a new deal, with his current arrangement due to expire in 2021, and it’s reckoned he could be sold back to United for a fee of just £65million.

Discussing claims the player is unsettled at Real Madrid, boss Zinedine Zidane said earlier this week: “We know what is discussed, but what Cristiano has to do is think about playing, as always.

“I just want to talk about his performance and what he can bring to the team on the pitch.

“Cristiano is a part of this club, where he belongs. The club, the fans, everyone loves him.

“I always say the same thing, I do not see a Madrid without Cristiano.”

However, with reports growing he could leave this summer, could Manchester United see their player brought back to play alongside Alexis Sanchez and beyond Romelu Lukaku in an exciting new-look attack next season? Time will tell…
