Euro PT: Arsenal, Man City battling for Barcelona ace Iniesta
Manchester City and Arsenal are battling PSG to land a Barcelona legend this summer, while Roma are standing firm over Liverpool’s interest in one of their star men, according to Tuesday’s European papers.
THREE-WAY BATTLE TO LAND BARCA LEGEND
Manchester City, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are all reportedly trying to sign Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta this summer.
Iniesta, who will be 34 next month, is already said to have agreed a move to the Chinese Super League but top European outfits are trying to persuade him to stay on this continent.
Indeed, Diario Gol reports that Pep Guardiola wants to bring the playmaker to Manchester, while the link to Arsenal comes as Luis Enrique is tipped to take over from Arsene Wenger at The Emirates.
However, with two of Iniesta’s former Barca team-mates, Dani Alves and Neymar, already in France it would appear that PSG are confident of luring the Spain star to Paris.
The midfield maestro rolled back the years with an outstanding display in the 5-0 Copa del Rey final win over Sevilla, showing that he still has plenty to offer at the top level of European football.
