Everton are reportedly planning a £20million shock move for Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud to replace Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park.
Lukaku is expected to quit the Toffees in a big-money exit this summer and Everton boss Ronald Koeman is already lining up potential replacements for the Belgian.
Giroud has been tipped to leave the Gunners after failing to hold down a regular starting spot at The Emirates last season, with West Ham and Marseille both said to be at the front of the queue for the Frenchman.
Everton have already been proactive in their additions to the squad this summer, bringing in Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford, Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen and Belgian forward Henry Onyekuru, who is heading back to his homeland on loan at Anderlecht next season.
Malaga frontman Sandro Ramirez is also expected to sign for £5.2m, along with Burnley defender Michael Keane but Koeman is now seemingly chasing another attacking option.
Giroud is likely to leave the Gunners if, as expected, they bring in prolific Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette but the Toffees will face a potential bidding war if they want to get their man, according to the exclusive report in the Sun on Sunday.
