Everton are eyeing a move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy should Romelu Lukaku leave the club, a report claims.
The Toffees are reportedly in talks with Manchester United over Lukaku and have set an asking price of £100million.
The Daily Express report that while the Red Devils are looking to include Wayne Rooney as part of the deal, the Foxes have their eye on Vardy.
Everton’s current director of football Steve Walsh was the head of recruitment at Leicester when Vardy joined from Fleetwood for £1m in 2012.
Despite enduring a poor start to the season, the England international managed to register 15 goals this season.
Vardy did hint earlier this month that he is happy to stay at the club, but did not rule out a move away from the King Power Stadium.
“It’s football, anything can happen,” he said.
“It’s down to the club and the individuals themselves if offers are made for them or if they want to go.
“But if you look around the lads, the vast majority of them definitely still want to be here and progress how we want to.”
