Everton are set to launch a £6million bid for Portugal’s Euro 2016 winning goalkeeper Rui Patricio, according to reports.

The Toffees have been searching for a replacement for Tim Howard since his departure to the MLS and boss Ronald Koeman sees Patricio as an ideal candidate.

The Sun report that the Sporting Lisbon stopper, who played a starring role in Euro 2016 and was voted as the goalkeeper of the tournament, could be Everton’s second goalkeeper signing of the summer following the arrival of Maarten Stekelenburg from Southampton.

Patricio is a one-club man having made his debut for Sporting in 2006, going on to make 262 appearances since then.
