Everton have opened discussions over a £16million deal for Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar, according to reports on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old, who scored 16 goals last season, has also been linked with a move to Leicester City in recent months but is reportedly keen to link-up with Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman hopes the signing of the Cameroon international can persuade Romelu Lukaku to change his mind about wanting to leave Goodison Park this summer. The Belgium, who has been linked with numerous clubs, was mentioned as a target for Arsenal in Tuesday’s Paper Talk.
Lukaku, who has also been mentioned as a target for Juventus and Chelsea, was Everton chief goal threat last season with January addition Oumar Niasse failing to impress and Arouna Kone reportedly considering an offer to move to China.
