Everton are targeting Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone to replace Ronald Koeman, according to a report.
Sky Sports News claims that the Toffees are considering four candidates to fill their managerial vacancy, but owner Farhad Moshiri has made Simeone his top target.
Atletico currently sit fourth in the La Liga table but have had a somewhat tough start to life at their new stadium the Wanda Metropolitana.
However, the report claims that Simeone is unlikely to leave the club in the middle of the season, having signed a new deal in September to keep him in the Spanish capital until 2020.
Moshiri is expected to meet with board members before the weekend to promise large financial backing for their new boss and a long-term contract.
Sam Allardyce is also understood to have been in talks with Everton over taking the job until the end of the season, but Sky claims that reports of a £100k-a-week deal being tabled are false.
