The deal to take Henry Onyekuru to Everton is edging ever closer, as the Nigerian posted a picture in front of the club’s crest on Instagram.
KAS Eupen star Onyekuru was the Belgian league’s top scorer last season with 22 goals, and made his international debut earlier this month in a friendly win over Togo.
The Mirror are reporting that the striker was also courting interest from Arsenal and West Ham, but the Toffees have won the race for his signature.
It is understood that Onyekuru had a medical on Monday and the £6.8million deal will be completed when the transfer window opens at the weekend.
It’s reported the striker will spend the season back in Belgium with Anderlecht before joining up with Ronald Koeman next summer.
Earlier in the summer, Onyekuru said: “The first and most important thing for a player is to get playing time.
I’m still young and I still have a long career to pursue but now I need to play. It’s not just about going to a big club and sitting on the bench.”
