Everton are hoping to fend off interest in goal machine Romelu Lukaku by placing a £65million fee on the striker, according to reports on Wednesday.
The Belgian striker, who is joint-top scorer in the Premier League alongside Jamie Vardy, has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG and a return to former club Chelsea.
Lukaku, signed from Chelsea for £28million, has scored 19 goals in all competitions so far this season. And Everton, fearing he could be the subject of unwanted attention this month, have placed a £65million fee on his head to ward of suitors, according to reports in The Sun.
It is United who are said to be most keen on the Belgian, and have been monitoring Lukaku closely this season, and it’s yet to be seen if the asking price will put off Louis van Gaal’s side.
