Middlesbrough have made a move for Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, after growing frustrated in their attempts to land his team-mate Sheyi Ojo, TEAMtalk understands.
Boro were one of a handful of Championship clubs to agree a deal with Liverpool for 20-year-old Ojo – but the player remains undecided on his future, with Premier League Newcastle also keen.
Now with Garry Monk looking for extra width, Boro have turned their sights to his teammate Kent – who is currently impressing with Jurgen Klopp’s first-team in pre-season.
But Klopp is willing to let Kent back out on loan, having spent the last two seasons with Coventry and Barnsley.
Birmingham, Hull City, Derby and Leeds United have already made enquiries – but now Boro have come in to join the chase and could very well snap him up.
Boro, who have allowed attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez to talk with French side Nantes and Italian outfit Sampdoria, would love to get Kent in before the weekend’s Championship opener at Wolves.
