Jose Mourinho confirmed last week that he was interested in signing Falcao for Chelsea, and the Colombian striker has agreed to take a wage cut to move to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mirror.
Chelsea still need to come to an agreement with Monaco, however, with the French club apparently pushing for a clause that would commit the Blues to signing Falcao for £30million at the end of a season-long loan.
It is a figure that may scare some in west London following the 29-year-old’s less than spectacular spell at Old Trafford, but Falcao has denied suggestions it showed he is on the wane.
“It depends what criteria you are using,” he said.
“People said I was not on the field and not scoring goals. But Falcao was always there.
“The speculation is not true. I am calm. Today Falcao is a more complete player.”
