Falcao wants to stay in Premier League

Falcao left Manchester United last month after the Red Devils decided not to turn his loan spell into a permanent move following a season in which the 29-year-old scored only four times.

Despite that less than impressive return, Chelsea are widely reported to be in advanced talks to sign Falcao, probably on loan, as they look to fill the gap created by Didier Drogba’s departure.

Falcao, who has joined up with the Colombia squad ahead of the Copa America, expects his future to be finalised shortly.

“I know it has been speculated very much about Chelsea,” he told Colombian daily newspaper El Tiempo.

“I try to stay out of it. I care about working with Colombia for now. That’s what my agent does.

“I would like to continue in the Premier League. My future will be decided in the coming weeks.”

Chelsea, meanwhile, have made Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic their top target to replace Petr Cech, who has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
