Alvaro Morata is a “smarter” option than Romelu Lukaku for Manchester United, while one Arsenal fan draws up a list of players who should be axed, all in our forum.

Eight Arsenal players who should be axed

SO we have signed a new left back and Gibbs should be shown the door with only a year left on his deal. Players who can join him for me would be ospina, chambers, jenko, Gabriel, mert, elneny, Walcott and Perez.

Now I’ve said in earlier post that’s we possibly need a CB,CM and forward this is we can keep Sanchez and ozil. Striker is a funny one for me as there are quite a few available morata, lukaku, lacacette, bellotti, aubameyang and mnappe if u pay the going rate and that seems well north of 50 million up to 100 million.

Now with all that in mind my first choice would be van dijk in defense and personally I would off chambers and possibly Walcott plus a few million now Liverpool seem to have messed up there chances of signing him. Upfront id like us to sign a top striker and my choice would be mbappe but considering the amount we would have to pay for him I would possibly look elsewhere and looking elsewhere i don’t see value for money or players willing to join us compared to others.

I was one who thought Sanchez did well up top and one option would be to bring in mahrez and move Sanchez back upfront leaving giroud and welbeck a option off the bench or to rotate when needed.

In CM I would bring in a strong athletic midfielder in the mould of viera to play alongside xhaka who i think will improve after a season under his belt albeit him and Ramsey looked good together near the end of the season but can’t see Ramsey staying fit or consistent for longer then a couple months at a time.

Finally I think it will be sad but jack wilshire should be shipped off and I always thought he would of been one for the future and a possible England legend but injuries have robbed him. I also would like to add although cech i thought did better the end of the season as a whole I think he was under par considering his talent and experience so maybe we should consider signing a top young talent for next season who could possibly take over the reigns the following season someone like butland or Pickford if then price is right.

Forster perfect for Arsenal

Fraser Forster: Linked with a summer switch to Everton

Whilst I’d love us to get van djik and see him being the perfect defender for us, I still think he’ll end up at Liverpool. The dust will settle on this saga in couple weeks and Liverpool will get their man.

Up top I struggle to see the appeal with mbappe, he looks a fantastic talent I mean he could be the next big thing but reality is that he has had one average season. 12 goals or something and a few assists I wouldn’t want us paying upwards of 50 million for him not when for 50-70 mil you could potentially sign players who have scored goals for fun consistently lacazette, aubamayang, benzema, lewandowski if you offered 50+ then you could get the clubs talking.

We need an enforcer to play with xhaka if he is now to be a permanent fixture in the team, kesse looks a good player and physical I would still be tempted to sign carvalho as well, had a average season last term but that was on back of a bad injury so could be an option.

CB wise as van djik is a no go (imo) I would go all out for Jonathan Tah, Sanchez and rudiger.
Gk- I can’t knock Cech the amount of games he stopped it being a loss or embarrassment is quite remarkable although I do see the need for a replacement soon. I’d like Forster from Southampton he is a monster in the stick after him I would be tempted for butland not convinced on Pickford.

Midfield the priority for Arsenal

I would like to see us add someone in the midfield Hulk. I read last week that Kessie has actually joined AC Milan ON LOAN oddly enough. Think its a 2 season loan with an option to buy. Good player.

I also like Naby Keita at Leipzig. Liverpool have been sniffing around him but one of their higher ups said that none of their top talent is for sale. People say that but don’t always mean it. Arsenal being example number 1!

Does anyone know much about Mario Lemina at Juve? He has been linked to us a lot recently. He hardly got a look in this season. I don’t take much notice of the Italian league so would be interested to know if people rate him

Lukaku and Llorente for Chelsea

I have no problem with Lukaku coming back and would like to see Llorente bought too as back up.

Costa needs to go and we need to loan out Michy and Tammy to Prem club for more playing experience.
Hope we complete our signings good and early this summer.

Tah should be a target for Liverpool

Jonathan Tah: Liverpool target

Hey Mr Mak, we definitely should go for Jonathan Tah, he is probably one of the few young defensive talents out there. A champions league veteran and only 21.

Like our own English youngster John stones he likes to attack whenever possible, but I think he’s much better than John Stones with regard to one on ones. I’ve seen John Stones out muscled and out manouvered a few times.

Jonathan Tah is somewhat more solid. Don’t know why mancity went for stones over Tah? English and premier league already, maybe? Anyways I think it’s probably an insult to compare him with Stones. With his experience already at such a young age Jonathan Tahs ceiling could be even higher than VVDs…

Definitely would be a coup to get him. But ironically, Klopp probably wants someone a little older. But if we do sign a more mature player we should definitely go for Tah as well.

‘Nightmare PR situation for Liverpool’

Mwake- seen you mention Jonathan tah so many times over the last year or so. I’ve still not seen him play but I’d be interested if we got linked as you’re so keen!!

On VVD – yesterday I thought it is deffo done. However, having thought about it, I don’t see why it needs to be. And this is maybe naive or hopeful. But, as mak says, there needs to be some evidence of the Klopp / VVD meeting not being a coincidence.

I believe the powers that be have requested more info – possibly meaning info submitted so far is inconclusive / murky. Our apology was embarrassing, but we never admitted any wrongdoing, just regretting speculation and misunderstanding…now that we have issued that apology, our interest has become publically official (even if we say we have ended it).

If VVD handed in a transfer request and said I know Liverpool wanted me because they publically stated that their interest ended over misunderstanding…then there is a small possibility he can say his interest in joining us is based on that public admission (not from any tapping up).

It’s hugely unlikely scenario. It’ll take balls from VVD and he needs to play that hand himself (without Liverpool suggesting to him to do it). The move could really mess up his current situation if Liverpool don’t come back in. But he can totally issue a come and get me plea I think.

If he wants it and puts his balls on the line for it then I reckon we should make a big bid to get it done quick and to appease Southampton who won’t be happy to deal. Whilst we are at it we should also get their scouting team and Ryan Bertrand.

PR nightmare situation though and I doubt we can realistically go back in. But yeh, I think weirdly the public apology might somehow get us around a scenario where VVD comes out to say nothing dodgy happened, but I’d like to go now…

‘Morata is worth the money’

I think most on here would benefit a lot by getting out of the PL bubble. Saying Morata is a benchwarmer therefore not gud enough for United is truly insane.

Not many players would get regular game time with the attack Madrid has. Morata will be a perfect number 9. Not only because of his undoubted ability, but he’s also quite young and we will have him before he even reaches his prime.

He is worth the money quoted.

Morata the man for United

@OT Fax Machine. Agreed mate. A lot on here are completely underrating Morata. Some have mentioned players like Aubameyang and Dybala but these players are not the typical Mourinho centre forward in the mould of Drogba, Costa, or Ibrahimovic. Harry Kane fits the bill but he’s an impossible signing.

For me the realistic options are Morata, Belotti, or Lukaku.

Lukaku is a great option because he has Premier League experience and ranks similar to players like Rooney and Shearer at the same age. Problem is Mourinho previously sold him and there are questions to be asked about his big game temperament. We also have Conte hunting him which makes it much more difficult.

Belotti seems to be a very good striker but is quite unproven compared to the other two. Still, he appears to be very good in the air and fairly ambidextrous which is a big plus. We appear to be interested along with AC Milan so I reckon we could get him but there is some risk there.

Morata for me is the best option because he is proven at international level plus he has made good impressions at Juventus and at Real Madrid. Fair enough, he doesn’t start at Real Madrid but that is nothing to be ashamed of when players like Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are ahead of you.

Some seem to think Morata is slow but if you watch his 70 yard run against Bayern Munich in last season’s Champions League it tells you otherwise. Morata is a skillful dribbler and has a touch of class about him. He is also exceptional at heading which he demonstrated with a pinpoint bullet header from about 10 yards out for Spain just this week.

Some say he took 43 games to score his 22 goals this season but most of those appearances are from the bench, he averages a goal every 88 mins and he leads the line well. The player definitely wants to move for gametime, the risk is he doesn’t adjust to Manchester but I think he would slot right into the Premier League, he’s that good.

All these players would cost around 60-80 million quid so I reckon we’re screwed either way. We need to sign one of Belotti, Morata, or Lukaku. My preference is Morata.

Morata a ‘smarter footballer than Lukaku’

Remember watching Morata in the CL final for Juve a couple of years ago, when he was 21/22. He’s big, strong, mobile, great in the air, technically very strong and he is quick, not PEA quick but quick.

In the current market he’s a £50m striker, 2 years ago he’d have set you back £30-35m easy. He’d be a great signing for us, probably a smarter footballer than Lukaku, half the price and with proven European pedigree, unlike Romelu.
