Rio Ferdinand has labelled Diego Costa “a petulant baby” and a “ticking time bomb” after the Chelsea striker was involved in the sending off of Arsenal defender Gabriel.
Costa caught Laurent Koscielny twice with two flailing arms before Gabriel intervened and ended up with a red card after backing into Costa and kicking out at the Chelsea man.
Costa was booked following the incident, but was lucky not to see a red card from referee Mike Dean after provoking both Koscielny and Gabriel in Saturday’s 2-0 win for the champions.
Ferdinand was disgusted with Costa’s actions and when asked if he would have Costa in his side he shook his head.
“Costa acts like a petulant baby. If anything happens it’s like the end of the world,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“He’s a liability, a ticking time bomb. He’s a fantastic player but he has to get back to playing football.”
