Robert Lewandowski: Scored five times for Bayern Munich against Wolfsburg

Robert Lewandowski made Bundesliga history on Tuesday as he scored five goals in just 10 minutes to earn Bayern Munich a 5-1 win over Wolfsburg.

The champions seemed to be on course for their first defeat of the season when they went in at the break a goal behind after Daniel Caligiuri had put the Wolves in front.

Coach Pep Guardiola then brought on Lewandowski at half-time and the move paid dividends.

It took the Pole just five minutes to get his name on the scoresheet, and he did not stop there.

The 27-year-old had completed his hat-trick within four minutes, added a fourth two minutes later and a fifth less than 10 minutes after his first.

His haul took Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga until Borussia Dortmund face Hoffenheim on Wednesday night, while boosting their goal difference in six straight wins.

Elsewhere, former Bayern forward Sandro Wagner grabbed a brace for Darmstadt as they won their first home game in the Bundesliga in over 33 years, beating Werder Bremen 2-1.

Aron Johannsson had put Bremen in front at the Bollenfalltor.

Ingolstadt fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Hamburg with Michael Gregoritsch scoring late on for Bruno Labbadia’s men while a Vedad Ibisevic brace earned Hertha Berlin a 2-0 win at home to Cologne.
