Quique Sanchez Flores: Won't discuss Watford contract until summer

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores felt his team paid a heavy price against Arsenal and were unfortunate to lose 3-0 after matching the Gunners for long spells.

The Hornets went in at the break 0-0 with their illustrious visitors having more than matched them at Vicarage Road.

But Arsenal showed their mettle after the break with goals from Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey earning the visitors all three points.

Flores, however, was happy with his players and felt they gave a good account of themselves.

He said: “It was very difficult to accept what happened after one hour because in the first half and the first 15 minutes of the second half, we went in the right way.

“We worked well against Arsenal, but after the first goal the morale of the players went down and down.

“We were playing against a team that has the chance to win the league so they are a very tough team.

“But I felt for a big part of the match we had options, and a big chance to do something important today.

“Now, we just need to collect the positive things from the first hour.”
