Nottingham Forest are ready to axe manager Dougie Freedman should they lose Friday’s clash with bitter rivals Derby County, sources have told TEAMtalk.
Freedman’s future at the City Ground has been the subject of intense speculation for some time, following an indifferent start to the season.
Forest currently find themselves languishing in 19th spot in the Championship table after a run of eight games without a win.
Forest have won just three of their opening 15 games and Freedman is thought to be on borrowed time with the club’s owners.
Forest’s hierarchy are thought to be considering possible replacements for Freedman if they decide to dispense with the under-fire boss.
Defeat to local rivals Derby on Friday will only increase the pressure on Freedman and lead to more calls for a change at the City Ground helm.
