Robbie Keane: Talks Leeds United

Ex-Leeds United striker Robbie Keane has played down any rumours linking him with a sensational return to Elland Road this month.

Keane scored nine goals in 14 appearances for the Whites before making his loan spell from Inter Milan permanent, but Leeds’ financial troubles meant he was quickly moved to Tottenham for £7million back in 2002.

Almost 15 years later, the Republic of Ireland legend has spoken about a potential return to the club.

“I’ve got a few offers on the table. I’ve had a lot of people asking ‘are you coming back to Leeds, Wolves etc’ but you can’t go somewhere where there isn’t an offer,” Keane said.

“I definitely haven’t heard from Leeds or Wolves.”

Leeds, meanwhile, have slapped a £15million price tag on Chris Wood to ward potential Premier League suitors.
