The Eagles are close to bringing Juventus left-back Patrice Evra back to the Premier League, according to Sky Italia.

The media outlet has reported that both sides have reached a deal, while the former Manchester United player has agreed to the move.

Palace boss Sam Allardyce declared on Thursday that improving the London side’s leaky defence was his priority this transfer window, and Evra will become the first piece of the puzzle.

The Frenchman left the Premier League two-and-half years ago, joining the Turin side in a £5.5million pound deal.

The 35-year-old could be accompanied by further incoming faces in the coming weeks, as the Eagles are keen on bringing in Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp and Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson.
