Former team-mate reveals key to stopping Liverpool star Salah

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger believes that he knows what it takes to neutralise the threat of Liverpool star Mo Salah.

The pair were team-mates at Roma, the side who Liverpool knocked out 7-5 on aggregate to reach to Champions League final.

The Egypt international will be facing off against his old colleague Rudiger – as well as another of his old teams – when he takes on Chelsea on Sunday.

Rudiger, however, seems up for the battle, telling BBC’s Football Focus: “If I play, it will be a direct duel against Salah. The good thing is, I’m not slow!

“To be very honest, he is the most polite guy I have ever met in football. He is a fantastic person.

“Of course, you are always a bit surprised but I know his abilities and his potential and I knew he would be good for Liverpool.”
