Galatasaray are to hold talks with Manchester United’s versatile star Antonio Valencia in the next few days, according to reports in the Turkish media.
It was reported earlier this month that Valencia could be one of 12 players shown the exit door at Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho over the summer.
According to reports made by Fanatik, the Turkish giants are hoping to begin talks with the Ecuador international in the coming days in an attempt to bring the player to the Turk Telecom Arena.
The reports also claim that Galatasaray attempted to sign the Ecuadorian last summer but have now been given the go ahead to acquire the player’s services.
Valencia joined Manchester United from Wigan back in 2009 for a reported fee of £16million and has endured a stop and start career whilst at Old Trafford, with injuries hampering his progress and most recently a foot injury at the end of last year which ruled him out for four months.
However in his seven-year spell, the midfielder has won every major English honour, including two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, an English League Cup and two Community Shields.
Valencia also did go on to be crowned Manchester United’s player of the season for the 2011/2012 season, just one year after breaking his ankle in a Champions League game against Rangers.
Overall the 30-year-old has made 176 appearances along with scoring 13 goals during his time at Old Trafford.
But now with new boss Mourinho at the helm it looks as if Valencia’s seven-year association with club is set to come to an end as the former Chelsea boss looks to revamp his squad for the forthcoming season.
