Gary Brazil handed Nottingham Forest reins until end of season

Interim manager Gary Brazil will remain in charge of Nottingham Forest until the end of the season, the club has confirmed.

Brazil took temporary charge of Forest in mid-January following the sacking of Philippe Montanier and alongside assistant Jack Lester has overseen three wins in four Sky Bet Championship games.

“#NFFC can confirm that Gary Brazil and Jack Lester will remain in charge of first-team affairs until the end of the season,” Forest tweeted on Thursday evening.

Nigel Clough, who made more than 300 appearances for the Reds over two spells as a player, was the club’s preferred candidate to replace Montanier but he decided to stay at Burton.

Forest, who have risen from 20th to 15th in the table under Brazil and Lester, are next in action at Norwich on Saturday.
