Gary Neville reveals his concerns over Liverpool striker Firmino

Gary Neville says he has concerns over Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino burning out in the final months of the season.

The Brazilian striker is enjoying his best season to date under Jurgen Klopp with 19 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, but the 26-year-old has made 35 appearances already this season.

And with Daniel Sturridge loaned out to West Brom, there will be even more emphasis on Firmino and Neville believes the former Hoffenheim man could be at risk.

“What would worry me is Sturridge leaving. It went under the radar,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.

“Who comes in for Firmino when he needs a rest? The work rate he puts in is unbelievable.”

Only Mohamed Salah has played more minutes in the Premier League than Firmino under Klopp this season and the German boss may well have to turn to Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke to lighten the load on Firmino as they season progresses.
