Steven Gerrard hailed Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford through gritted teeth last night.
Rashford continued his fine start to the season on Tuesday with a goal in United’s 3-0 Champions League win over Basel at Old Trafford to take his tally for the season to three goals in six games.
It continues a remarkable run of debuts for the 19-year-old with Rashford now having netted on his Premier League debut, Europa League debut, EFL Cup debut, FA Cup debut, England debut, England U21 debut and now on his Champions League debut.
Speaking to BT Sport after United’s win, Liverpool legend Gerrard hailed the England man’s ability and “bottle”.
“I think he’s very good, he has a huge future ahead of him,” he said.
“It’s great that he’s English. Not so good he’s a Manchester United player from my point of view.

“He’s got pace, he’s got everything to his game, he scores all kinds of goals.
“We spoke a few weeks ago about Trent Alexander-Arnold having the courage and the character to step up while there’s big names around to take free-kicks and credit to the kid having that bottle.”
🙌 Great that he's English
🙈 Shame he's a Utd player
