Jack Grealish: Aston Villa midfielder could represent England or Ireland

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has reportedly chosen England over the Republic of Ireland – and may be in Roy Hodgson’s squad this week.

Grealish, who has represented Ireland at Under-21 level, has been mulling over his senior international options for several months but has finally made up his mind, according to the Sunday Express, following talks with both Hodgson and Republic boss Martin O’Neill.

England assistant Ray Lewington was at Anfield on Saturday to watch Grealish – and returning Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge – and the 19-year-old could now be named in Hodgson’s squad on Thursday for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.

With England’s qualification for next summer’s finals in France already secured, Hodgson has confirmed he is likely to use the remaining games to take a look at some different players, with Liverpool’s Jordan Ibe another player the England manager has hinted is in contention.
