The defender has been struggling with a series of leg problems lately. A thigh injury forced him off against Notts County nine days ago and the problem persisted to rule him out of the defeat at Macclesfield on Saturday.
Green, who missed the final of the competition through injury in 2007 when he was at Bristol Rovers, hopes to be fit to help Hereford reach the Southern Area final.
“If I’m passed fit and selected I’ll be itching to play, especially with Wembley only two ties away,” Green told the Football League’s official website.
“This is a game we know can win, although we obviously also know that MK Dons will be favourites. But we’ve got home advantage and that could be crucial. Their form was poor before Saturday whereas we’ve been doing pretty well at home, so we’ll go into the game with confidence.”
Bulls boss John Trewick was critical of his side’s performance at Macclesfield and could opt to make changes at Edgar Street with Sam Gwynne, Gavin McCallum, Matt Done and Leon Constantine amongst those hoping to be recalled to the starting XI.
