The president of Brazilian outfit Gremio has denied talk that Liverpool have a agreed a big-money deal for Brazil forward Luan.
It had been reported on Sunday that the Reds were close to finalizing a deal for the 24-year-old, who has just a year remaining on his contract.
According to Brazilian journalist, Luis Felipe Amorin, Jurgen Klopp’s men had made a £23million offer earlier in the month that had been accepted by Gremio.
A report in the Daily Mirror then claimed that the fee was nearer to £26m and that Liverpool were very confident of bringing the player to Anfield.
However, Gremio president Romildo Bolzan Jr was having none of it when speaking after his side’s weekend win over Botafogo, as reported on This is Anfield.
“We have no information, no official proposal,” he insisted. “We have absolutely no concrete proposal.”
Bolzan Jr has, however, admitted in the past that Gremio will be looking to sell this summer in order to balance the books, while they are also keen on re-signing current Reds star Lucas Leiva.
