Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thinks that the battle to secure a place in next campaign’s Champions League will go down to the last day of the Premier League season.
City overcame Hull City 3-1 thanks to an own-goal from Ahmed Elmohamady and further strikes from Sergio Aguero and Fabian Delph.
The result keeps City in fourth position but extends the gap between themselves and fifth-placed Arsenal to seven points, although the Gunners have two games in hand on Guardiola’s side.
“It was important for us to win after many days without a win,” said Guardiola. “We started well and created chances and we had the right attitude.
“We could have scored many more goals. It is frustrating not go get a clean sheet but we defended poorly at set-pieces.
“It will definitely go to the last day [the fight for top four].”
