Pep Guardiola is not getting distracted by the upcoming reunion with Barcelona and is only focused on Man City’s game against Everton.
Guardiola will take his squad to the Camp Nou on Wednesday night but will not let that affect his preparations this weekend.
“All the players are much better. Some will play tomorrow, some will not. We’ll have to think about it this afternoon,” said Guardiola.
“The way I want the players to win is the way I believe. The way you play depends on the players. But the fundamentals are the same.
“Tomorrow is the most important game. I’m not thinking about the game after. The best approach is to win tomorrow.
Following Ronald Koeman’s praise on Thursday, Guardiola made it very clear the feeling between the pair is mutual.
““We spent a lot of time and he was so generous, not only on the pitch,” Guardiola added.
“I learned a lot just from looking at him. He was one of the first central defenders with the quality not just to defend.
“Johan Cruyff bought Ronald Koeman to show us, to teach us why we need a central defender like Ronald.
“He was one of the few guys I never saw felt or miss an important game. I never saw him play a bad game in an important game.”
