Pep Guardiola has said Man City are working with Joe Hart to resolve his “situation” and gave an update on Citizens’ transfer business.
Following the arrival of Claudio Bravo from Barcelona, Hart is set to become Pep Guardiola’s third-choice option at the Etihad. A demotion that puts his long-term England future under serious threat.
Guardiola said: “Txiki said we spoke with Joe and spoke about that, we want the best for him. The club will help him find the best option. I will treat him like anyone if he stays, I will be fair. Until now he’s our player and that’s all.
“If Joe stays here with the other goalkeepers, he’ll be treated like the other players. For Willy, Angus and Joe, if they stay we will find the best solution for them and for us. They all need to play, the situation is not easy but we’ll find the best solution.”
The Spaniard was also asked if there would be any more new signings before the end of the transfer window.
“No, no chance,” he said. “It’s enough, we have 30 players, it’s enough. I’m so happy with the squad and the team. I’m so confident. I trust a lot in them.”
Guardiola hailed the signing of Bravo, but Man City fans will not be seeing him in action this weekend.
“He’s fit but he’s not going to play,” he revealed. “He’s a goalkeeper with a lot of experience in Spain and in the national team.
“He played in important games to create something special for Chile. He’s good in the build-up plays and quick off his line. He’s a good player for us.”
