Pep Guardiola said it was almost impossible for his Manchester City to defend the long ball at Burnley on Saturday.
City edged home with two goals from Sergio Aguero, but not before they were given a scare by the hosts, who took the lead at Turf Moor.
Dean Marney fired them ahead on the volley after City had failed to clear a long punt forward by veteran keeper Paul Robinson.
Guardiola said: “We showed a lot of personality in this stadium. We will now prepare for our game against Chelsea.
“It is almost impossible to defend that (long balls). They are taller than us and the second ball, they are good. They are dangerous.
“The teams in the Premier League, especially this kind, they do really well.”
Meanwhile, Fernandinho knows Manchester City must come through tests like the one they did today if they are to win the Premier League.
“We expected a game like that,” the midfielder told BT Sport.
“We analysed Burnley before, they play long balls, play for second balls and they started like that.
“But we scored two goals and turned it around and won the game.
“We want to be champions, we have to play these kind of games.”
