Francesco Guidolin: Manager encouraged by draw

Francesco Guidolin remains upbeat about Swansea’s survival prospects, despite seeing his side concede a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw at West Brom.

Gylfi Sigurdsson appeared to have secured all three points for the Swans with a second half goal, before Solomon Rondon snatched a point for the Baggies in the 92nd minute.

“It is disappointing, so late, but this is football,” said Guidolin.

“But I am optimistic as I saw my team play well. We lose two points but West Brom is a good team, a strong team, and this is a difficult stadium (to come to). I am optimistic because my team played well for 93 minutes – all the match.

“Our team is good but the table is not good and we need to improve.¬†Football is dangerous and Saturday is another difficult match, the first at home for me and I hope to see my team win.”
