Newcastle target Lewis Holtby looks like being shipped out by Hamburg with just eight months left on his contract.
The 27-year-old midfielder was wanted by Newcastle and Bournemouth in the summer, according to ESPN and now Rafa Benitez could revive his interest in the former Fulham man.
HITC claim Benitez could make a January move for the player, who is able to speak to interested parties in the next few months.
Holtby has made just four Bundesliga starts for Hamburg last season and was on the bench in the penultimate match before being left out of the squad for Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Stuttgart.
The report claims Holtby could be “offloaded” with the club as they “seemingly no longer require his services”.
The former Spurs attacking midfielder left Tottenham in July 2015 for €6.5million and has scored five goals in 97 appearances for Hamburg.
