Steven Gerrard: 'Pity' he never quit Liverpool

The Brewers have been assured an automatic promotion spot since winning 2-1 at Morecambe on April 28, and Hasselbaink has already been planning for the 2015/16 campaign.

The Dutchman, who will see his team go up as champions if they win at Cambridge on Saturday, wants to have more money available to him in the higher division.

“That has to be the next discussion – I would think (the budget would be bigger),” Hasselbaink told the Burton Mail.

“We need to go to the next level now and improve. I want to keep the core of the group, I don’t want to make big changes. I don’t think we need to make big changes, but we need to add players.”
