Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is set to return to action after the international break in a boost to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield options.
Henderson, who has yet to play under new manager Klopp, has started doing outdoor work at the Red’s training ground, Melwood.
In September the England international was ruled out for two months after breaking his metatarsal in training, but has also been struggling with a heel problem which troubled him at the start of the campaign.
The 25-year-old had to visit a specialist in New York after feeling pain in his heel during the opening two fixtures against Stoke City and Bournemouth.
In an attempt to solve the problem, Henderson underwent a series of injections, only to suffer the training-ground injury three days later.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have parted company with under-23 coach David Wagner, who could now be reunited with Klopp at Anfield.
Klopp is the godfather of Wagner’s youngest daughter, while the coach was the Liverpool boss’ best man at his wedding.
