Jordan Henderson hailed Liverpool’s dominant performance in their 2-0 victory over Tottenham at Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds were the better team for most of the game against an out-of-character Spurs with two first-half goals from Sadio Mane proving to be the difference.
And Henderson was pleased with the performance and how Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to control the game.
“I thought we played well, even without the ball we were still in control,” said Henderson.
“We were much better in terms of performance and the result. It’s a start in the right direction and we need to keep going like that until the end of season.
“Tonight you could see a lot of good things in our play. We have been frustrated in recent games. Today it was nice to have good performance.”
When asked why Liverpool’s results have been better against the clubs in the top six than teams lower down the league, Henderson replied: “That needs to change – quickly. We need to solve that issue.
“That’s the level set. We need to play like that every week. Tonight was a big win and a big performance.”
