Henry: Ox will struggle for regular football under Klopp

Thierry Henry believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could struggle to find a regular place in the Liverpool team under Jurgen Klopp.

The 24-year-old opted for a move to Anfield rather than Chelsea on deadline day, and is thought to be keen to play in a centre midfield role at the club.

Arsenal legend Henry believes that once Philippe Coutinho returns to full fitness, the England international will struggle to play regularly in that role.

“I always thought he didn’t really flourish at Arsenal,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“I was surprised with what he said… very telling of what he thought he didn’t have at arsenal because he said he’s going there to make sure Klopp can improve him as a player, he sees Klopp as a guy who can make him a better player.

“Where he’s going to play… I actually don’t know, it’s a bit tricky on the wings to play for Liverpool and as a No.10 – Coutinho is back.

“He also need to bring something to the table in order to get better, it’s not only the manager.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain came on immediately after half time to make his debut during his side’s 5-0 loss to Manchester City on Saturday.
