Thierry Henry: Tipped to replace Arsene Wenger

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed that he does not know if he is ready to take over from Arsene Wenger as Arsenal boss just yet.

The 39-year-old, who scored a record 228 goals in all competitions for the Gunners, has insisted that he is still learning as a coach and needs to be fully ready to take on such a role.

However, Henry, who is currently working as assistant manager to Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, has hinted that he would love to take charge one day, calling Arsenal “my club of heart”.

“It doesn’t depend on me, there are things to be respected, it’s my club of heart,” he told Canal Plus.

“My name is quoted to succeed Wenger, I hear that. But it’s hard for me to talk about it I have a lot of respect for everything the coach has done.

“Am I ready? I don’t know and nobody knows, but I also need to learn my job. Right now, I’m in learning mode.”

Earlier this month, the Daily Telegraph reported that Josh Kroenke, son of Arsenal’s largest shareholder Stan, wanted Henry to be Arsenal’s next manager so watch this space.
