Fabian Delph: Misses trip to Sunderland

Fabian Delph, Jack Butland, Riyad Mahrez and Emre Can were among the highest-rated players of the weekend, but Willian and Shane Long were among this week’s statistical strugglers.

City midfielder Delph was the only player in the Premier League this weekend to claim a 100% pass completion rate as Manchester City claimed a late 2-1 win over Swansea at the Etihad.

It was a good weekend too for Liverpool midfielder Can, who created four chances and was among the players to have touched the ball the most all weekend, during their 2-2 draw with West Brom. But it’s not all good news for Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp coming in for some rare criticism for his unconditional backing of Simon Mignolet in our Monday Verdict, while midfielder James Milner was fortunate to avoid red, according to our Ref Review panel.

Another player to shine again this weekend was Leicester playmaker Mahrez. While his Leicester team may top the Premier League table, it is West Ham who remain on top of our Power Rankings despite their frustrating 0-0 draw at home to Stoke.

Here, WhoScored.com look at the players that played the biggest roles for their teams over the weekend – and those that were more of a hindrance than a help…
