Roberto Firmino & Marouane Fellaini: Statistical strugglers

Fabian Delph and Christian Eriksen were the top-rated players of the weekend – but Roberto Firmino and Marouane Fellaini had games to forget at Anfield on Sunday, according to the latest statistics.

Delph was on the scoresheet as Manchester City closed the gap on the pacesetters with a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace – and their first-choice XI has the edge over title rivals Arsenal, according to our Monday Verdict.

City’s big win also saw them become our biggest climbers in our Power Rankings table – but Arsenal can feel aggrieved not to have extended their lead at the top with our Ref Review panel suggesting they were victims of a incorrect penalty call in their draw at Stoke.

Chelsea may have been held to a 3-3 draw by Everton – but their recent improvement has again been underlined by both Willian and Cesc Fabregas topping two categories.

But it’s not so good for Firmino, Fellaini, Jonathan Walters or Jordan Ayew, who both found themselves on the wrong end of some of the weekend’s stats.

Here, WhoScored.com look at the players that played the biggest roles for their teams over the weekend – and those that were more of a hindrance than a help…
