Holden signs Ross County deal

The 21-year-old has agreed a two-year deal as he prepares to swap one Victoria Park for another and move to Scottish football.

South African national Holden made his first-team debut for Hartlepool in April 2011 in a 1-1 home draw with Tranmere Rovers.

He went on to make a total of 61 appearances for the club, the majority of them starts, but it still awaiting his first goal.

Holden only played 11 games last season as Hartlepool retained their place in the Football League and enjoyed just one victory.

He will hope for better luck in the Scottish Highlanders, where he becomes Jim McIntyre’s fifth signing of the close season.

Holden follows Brian Graham, Ian McShane, Michael Gardyne and Scott Fox to the club from St Johnstone, Queen of the South, Dundee United and Partick Thistle respectively.
