The visitors opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Steed Malbranque fed Jermaine Jenas in the inside left channel and the midfielder’s cross was swept home at the far post by Dimitar Berbatov.

Brad Friedel produced a decent stop to deny Berbatov a second before Rovers equalised on the half-hour mark when David Bentley skipped away from Pascal Chimbonda down the right and pulled the back for Morten Gamst Pedersen to sidefoot home from 12 yards.

Berbatov and Malbranque both tested Friedel at the start of the second period while Bentley fired a curling free-kick straight at Radek Cerny.

Jenas squandered a late opportunity from a free-kick late on for Spurs but the draw was a fair result
