It’s safe to say the Express did not cover themselves in glory after reporting Jose Mourinho was “safe” on Thursday’s backpage.

Matt Dunn had changed his tune on Friday though with a headline of “Jose Had Lost The Players” – they knew.

DAILY MIRROR

The Mirror had no Mourinho headline on their backpage on Thursday, but they did claim he was “fighting for his job” in their “Cahill: We’re not robots” story. Today they led with Christmas turkey-themed “Jose Gets Stuffed”. Thursday

DAILY STAR

The Star went for “Jose’s New Blues Blast” on Thursday and followed it up with and ‘Exclusive’ “Blues In For Guus” today. We’re not sure about the Hiddink exclusive – it’s been everywhere after the Football Federation Australia said Hiddink was heading to Chelsea. Thursday

THE SUN

The Sun did a pretty good job on the whole with a headline of “Pep stalk” which claimed Roman Abramovich was “considering getting shot of Mourinho” and replacing him with Pep Guardiola.

And they followed that today with another turkey-inspired “Stuffed” headline.
